CranioSacral Therapy

Prenatal, Postpartum & Women Wellness

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch bodywork approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life by moving you towards inner harmony. There is diversity within the CranioSacral styles; I train with the Upledger Institute and practice their teachings which include gentle myofascial release, range of motion movements, acupressure, therapeutic dialoguing, & somatic release techniques. In this type of bodywork I listen to the subtle rhythms of your body with a gentle touch (about 5 grams, imagine the weight of a nickel in your hand) and let your inner healing guide do the changing. I move very slowly at times. In this way, your body has the optional opportunity to process it’s past (be in physical tension or trauma).

Touch is a way of listening to the inner rhythms of the body, mind and spirit. There is often an unwinding of tightness that has been present from past experiences, and sometimes emotions and past traumas arise to be processed and begin healing. I invite optional dialoguing when appropriate to unearth thought patterns held in the body, and help you make your own realizations about what you need on your journey. Sometimes our minds believe one thing, but our body needs the time to catch up to these beliefs, and in this slow style bodywork your whole being is given time align with itself.

CST also addresses the central nervous system and in doing so can bring rest to your body. By freeing the central nervous system of tension, it to perform at its best. CST naturally eliminates pain and stress, strengthens your resistance to disease, and enhances whole health.

And because it’s so gentle, CST can be effective for all ages, from newborns to elders, and during pregnancy & postpartum. I am offering CST to postpartum women as a way to recover and integrate from their birthing experiences, and to find deep rest in the midst of the new transition into parenthood.

Sessions are experienced fully clothed, either sitting or lying down. There is time to chat together at the beginning of your session about what to expect and time afterwards to rest or the option to ask questions.

Massage

Prenatal, Postpartum & Women Wellness

My style of therapeutic massage is an evolution of listening to what your body needs in its’ healing journey. My intention is to hear you & the subtleties of what your body’s healing mechanism is needing. I use gentle to medium pressure that connects to your fascia, move slowly and milk the muscles of their tension with small movements. I use trauma informed language to make sure you know what to expect and feel empowered to make choices and be heard. My hope is that you leave feeling rejuvenated.

I completed massage therapy school at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR and had a home studio in Corvallis before moving to WA. Further trainings include trigger point therapy with Walter Libby LMT, CranioSacral with the Upledger Institute, Reiki with Margot Vance-Borland LMT, & Nurturing the Mother with Claire Marie Miller for perinatal massage.

Most recently I’ve been working with people who are dealing with trauma, and new parents who need support for their new role as a parent. I’ve recently began training with Lynn Schulte, PT (Institute for Birth Healing) & Tami Lynn Kent, PT (Holistic Pelvic Care) in order to help treat women in the birthing continuum on a holistic and effective level. For postpartum folks, my goal is to make it easy for you to receive postpartum bodywork or massage so that rest, warmth and appropriate bodywork are honored. I offer in-home or office visits for postpartum care.

“The female body is a sacred space for meeting with spirit. Women are the weavers of our universe…” - Tami Lynn Kent

Holistic Pelvic Care™

Postpartum & Women Wellness

Holistic Pelvic Care (HPC) is bodywork & is available for all women. Creator Tami Lynn Kent PT defines it as,

“A holistic practice consisting of physical and energetic tools designed to evaluate, restore balance, and enhance vibrant flow in the pelvic bowl of the female body by working with a woman’s core patterns.”

At this point in time I practice HPC as energy work, external pelvic care only. I invite women to create their own medicine in their pelvic bowl by bringing their presence to what they feel in that space of their bodies. In this guided journey you might explore your fears, joys, mental patterns, lineage, and ways of creating. It can be done in person or remotely. By bringing breath and listening to the emotional intelligence at the root of our bodies, we can be guided to unlock the mysteries of our lives. This energetic work is linked to our physical bodies and therefore we can positively influence our bodies to heal physically.

I study with Tami Lynn Kent, PT in Portland, OR and I am forever grateful of the magic she has brought to the service of women.
